From Grande Cache
Hey Split,
Just moved up here in March. LOVE IT! Beautiful country. Wifey is signed up for a two year hitch at the hospital here, and after that I think we are sticking. Both very much enjoy the area. PM me when you get here and we can hook up for a beer/coffee if you like.

GC
Well I am excited to be moving up to Grande Cache and I will send you all a message once I get to town. Always nice to know a few fellow outdoorsmen when a guy makes a move...
What do you all do in GC? Seems like a trend with the little ladies and the medical field...
Thanks again!

Hey Splitbrow,

Congrats on the move man!

not a good time to buy in town now the market is way overpriced, but i guess that's the way it is in most of this province now. to think i could have bought a house a couple years ago for around 80 k is now selling for well over 200k. might want to do some looking around i dont think there is even a lot of places to rent, pretty busy place lately. But one thing is for sure you will love the country and the hunting.

Welcome to Gr. Cache, if your the outdoorsy type you will love it. Endless hiking trails, hunting, fishing, exellent white water for canoeing, kayking and rafting. Beer league hockey, mixed softball, mens league golfing. If horses are your thing there is lease land at the riding clubs were you can build or buy a barn. The gun club is a short distance North of town maybe 10 minutes, its small (100yrds) but were else can you sight your guns in and watch mountain goats.Breath taking scenery, I've lived here from the towns start up in 1969 and I'm still finding new country to scout, mind you its getting easier with the oil patch opening up the country. Were are you gonna be working?

Thanks guys for the replies...
I have spent a bunch of time up in the area and I am looking forward to getting to know it better. I will actually be working for the Town as I was hired on as the new Marketing Officer. Basically my job is to promote Grande Cache as a desirable tourism destination and attract new investment. It will be a lot of fun and I am excited to be working to grow a community that has incredible potential!
I was up on Sunday and can't wait to be back and settled.
I will touch base when I get up.
Bearbait send me a PM if you hear anything from him... and DW, you sound like you would be a wealth of information for a new guy to the area.
Thanks again!

Welcome to Grande Cache! Great town, especially if you like the outdoors like Darkwing said. Sounds like a good idea to get the GC chapter of AO members together when you get up here, maybe meet at the gun range or something. Bullwinkle is another member that lives here...

Thanks again! I look forward to meeting the GC AO chapter...
I have a place that will be ready for Nov. 1st but I am still looking for something short-term (month and a half) seeing as I start on the 17th. Keep your ears and eyes open. I am really felxible and really only need a bed and a place to get cleaned up for work in the morning.
Cheers.
