Default Most Comfortable Shoes for Standing All Day

I am on my feet all day long. Back is bad. For those of you who also are on their feet all day, what have you found to be your most comfortable shoes ever (non-workboot as I don't need steel toes). Also should mention that I already have orthotics. My back thanks you in advance

Start with quality prescription orthopedic inserts. Makes a world of difference to knees and back posture.

It's a different angle but have you considered exercising. A decent squat/deadlift program can help with all of the issues you're experiencing. As always work with a pro at first but something with active moment could help.

Food for thought.

For me it is running shoes, specifically Aesics. Not very interesting, but easily the most comfortable shoes I own, and I also have a gibbled back.

I would definitely saw try walking or running shoes for sure!

Saucony or new balance for wider feet.

I don't like Clarks and most blundstones are just slip on?

I use the redwing work boots

Oddly enough I found the Magnum Stealth-force boots to be the easiest on my knees and back. They are made for law enforcement so they are built tough. The pair I'm wearing now is almost 10 years old. Of course you will need to replace the insoles every few years.

Blundstones.
I just bought my third pair since I discovered them 7 years ago. Had 2 previous pairs as work boots (steel toe) and the new ones are just boots, non CSA.

Best $220 I could spend on boots and worth every dollar.

Define "standing".

Are you standing at a standup desk all day?
Walking around constantly? on concrete? Dirt? etc.
And be honest with yourself.
It all makes a difference.

Unfortunately shoes are a very personal thing. Something I find comfortable, most other people wont. Every foot is different.

You're best to go talk to an expert.

The best thing I ever did was go to the "running room".
Getting advice from someone who is actually vested in you getting the best product for you is worth it's weight in gold. Not to mention they have treadmills for you to try out all shoes. Most sport check/footlocker places only have people that barely know which shoe goes on which foot.

Now the problem with that, is they specialize in running (which is what I was looking for), but it gave me alot to think about regarding my other shoes. I was there for over an hour, and that was only deciding between two pairs of shoes.

Redwing for shoes, Danner for boots, New Balance for sneakers.

Default Ecco

I have 3 pair of ECCO's, A leather shoe, a sandal and a higher topped leather Trecking shoe/boot, they are well made, comfortable and light weight. They come with a price but I believe they are worth it.

On top of the shoe, get the quality standing matts they use in banks if you stand in one place a lot. What you stand on makes as big a difference as the shoes you wear.

On days I'm standing all day, especially on bare concrete, it's S.W.A.T. all the way, and Altama for an all day runner-style shoe.

The insoles are designed they feel "broken in" when they are first put on. I'm 73, have back and leg issues and can go all day while wearing either pair.

Default Only Shoe

Ecco's for everything, dress shoes, slip on, sandals and especially Ecco golf shoes. No they are not cheap but hands down the best investment in back and foot comfort.

Check out SAS Comfort shoes, they would fit the bill for what you need for work.
They sell hand crafted comfort shoes, made in San Antonio Texas, high quality and comfortable. And they have my size 13

They are in the west end of Edmonton.

Best advice - is to get professional advice. The shoe that works for you will depend on the shape of your foot, the type of strain on your back and legs, the surface you will standing on, and, of course, the comfort of the shoe itself.

Hi arch, low arch, mid-sole construction, support, gel pack, etc...

I have a co-worker who suffered for years after a car accident, and it took him years to finally seek professional advice to find the right shoe. Within weeks, the years of intense suffering subsided to a much more tolerable level for him.

He currently wears Asics running shoes - not sure which one - but apparently they are pretty pricey but worth every penny.

Default Shoes

I’m a fan of Keens. I have a pair of hikers and a pair of shoes. Super comfy with a wide toe box. Shoes are 5 years old now, and holding up well.

Default Under armour

By far the best for me has been
Under armour fat tire hiking shoes.
Just a good shoe for standing on concrete all day and easy on back , joints and feet.
They look goofy but oh so good.

Ecco Rugged Track GTX

I have been wearing this shoe for almost 20 years now. I used to have orthotics and I still suffered until I got this shoes. No more orthotics and no more foot and back pain.

I have been told by the sales staff here in Edmonton, this is the hottest shoe going for years now. Lots of guys in the construction and concrete business wear them.
