328, 330, 339 WMU's
I am planning on hunting for White-tailed deer (antlered and/or antlerless) @ 328, 330, 339 WMU's which are now open for General Seasons with firearm.
Can someone please advise any good location for camp setup (canvas tent)? Are those WMU's good for Elk hunting?

I've never seen trace of elk in 330. it's also quite busy in there usually. Lots of lease roads leading every which way so you can random camp pretty well anywhere. Very busy in there though, lots of other hunters driving the lease roads, especially on weekends. I went out on opening day for rifle (Sept 17) thinking it wouldn't be as busy because it was a Monday... boy was i wrong ha!
Some nice spots to set up in there though, just get in early and hunker down!

I do appreciate both of your responses Tronneroi and JDK71. Juts wondering if you can share google pinpoint or a specific location here, which would be great as a cam spot.

339
Just an FYI, 339 you are no longer allowed to use your Supplemental tag (#1). That is a new change for this year...

25 to 30 years ago I successfully hunted Elk in both 328 and 339. Things have really changed in these WMU’s, like many others. Access, predators and increased numbers of hunters have all contributed to the demise of the ungulate population. Beautiful country, but the last time I camped back in that area it was virtually void of Elk.

I have a general whitetail tag which I believe is valid for antlered or antlerless through both general season. My buddy also has his.

I could tell you exactly where there is plenty of action in 330 but it's taken me plenty of kilometers on foot to find those spots. Get your feet on the ground and make some tracks.

Been 20 plus yrs since I hunted 328. Back then there were a few outfitter camps to the west for elk. We went east of the big pipeline. Seen all of the critters there but the elk were ghosts. Some nice Mulies too.
I really liked that area but when we talked to the local trapper and he said the elk do a big loop in and out of the zone, we moved on to a different zone. Fun times hunting that zone.
I would guess there will be more than enough holes in the woods to set up a camp in any of those zones. Good luck.

Lots of places to set up camp, take a look on google earth and you might find a few decent spots to camp, or just go up and down a few lease roads until you find a decent spot. Tons of road hunters in the area, generally a decent spot, if you can get off the roads, like others said. Some days I’ve seen nothing whatsoever, some days I see some game. I’ve never seen massive amounts of deer in that area, but I haven’t been hunting it long either.

Been hunting 328 and 339 for the past seven years. The past three years however, the numbers have been dropping pretty drastically.
If I were you, I would access 328 off the trunk road onto the Cordell road, and avoid the nordegg river road. Too much road traffic on the NRR, far less up the Cordell and Wawa, watch out for logging trucks though, the lydell group drivers are especially bad up there once the snow flies.
You might see some elk at that end of these wmu’s, I haven’t seen any sign as of late of elk near the sunchild side.
