Default Rabbit Hunting

Hello there all I am new to hunting and have wanted to start by just hunting some small game such as rabbits. I've been out in the WMU 406 a couple times and walked around a bit but didn't really see anything besides a few tree squirrels and crows. If anyone has any advice on how I could hunt rabbits or maybe a general area where I could find some that would be amazing. Thank you!

here is some tips from posts I have done on Rabbit hunting

Rabbit Way

some times you find these spots that have trails of the animal your hunting

with age and good scouting skills Mother Nature reveals street signs

we have found certain areas that hold more than usual amount of target spieces

this is especially true for Wabbits

with snow street signs like Rabbit Way ... Speed Hi-way .. Bunny Jump road they show you how many rabbits you didn't see

well we got a few Yesterday ..and one wasically wabbit got away

aahh such is hunting

Shots Fired

2 Bro's having fun

enjoy

David …

and more from posts I have done

if there are no tracks and droppings = no Wabbits .. you should see grazing on the shrubs etc small poplar they eat the bark .. it will be dense bush and in you need to push your way in trees to find them here , they need cover except at night you will see lots of tracks but no Wabbits find the dense bush .. bingo

Go Slow bobbing head as in taking as many anlges of a look ahead as you can then move slowly and repeat..

some tips others will have more

pm me if you need more or just ask

David

if you need more info just pm me or ask on this post so all can see

Hello sir,

I live in Calgary and new to hunting. Would you mind pointing out some locations or spots for rabbit hunting? I would like to go out this weekend, but not too far from the city.

Your kindness is greatly appreciated!

I'm assuming you're talking snowshoe rabbits?
Wait for the snow, get yourself some snowshoes and find a friend with a beagle.
(Not as hard as you might think, beagle hunting takes a group)
It may not be the most fun you can have with your pants on, but close.
It has nearly religious status in the Maritimes

This is probably closest crown land to calgary. https://goo.gl/maps/Sz21tA7e2Ek all along this road from this point north stop and beat bush for rabbits, grouse, deer, moose, elk, bear. Be aware of all the quadders/trails in the area to avoid an accident. Way quieter if you can get away during the week
