I have a Bushnell 15-45x (MADE IN JAPAN) in excellent shape that I bought 3 years ago for $469 and a Manfrotto 293 tripod that I paid $279 I want to list for sale. Scope is really quite impressive for the price compared to a $2,000 Swaro. I'll sell the pair for $500 if interested.

You can find a vortex razor HD 65mm in that range, I've used one before and have nothing but good things to say about them

I have the nikon 60 (65?) fieldscope. I think the vortex has a better fine focus. The nikon is not as good as i wanted. Its great in the field and glass is quite good.

Tripod is more important than I thought. In hindsight I should have purchased the pan feature with the little handle instead of the ball head.

An 80+ would be great but I chose the smaller objective for field use... more compact.
