Default Montana Bighorn ties Alberta World Record

Justin Sheedy, shoots a 208 3/8" Bighorn Ram in Montana. It ties the current world record hunter harvested Ram taken in Alberta in 2000 by Guinn Crousen that also scored 208 3/8. The final scoring for the Ram for entry into Boone and Crockett is to be done in August 2019.

Unreal, great ram, truly is and seems to be a great hunter that got him too. Hard working and well deserving.

Was actually shot last year
Didn’t make any headlines because of the wild horse ram
In my opinion this one and the crossen ram should be number 1.
Not one from park

Wouldn't be a descendant of sheep we sent them ? We've sent a fair number south.

I thought the world record was a lot more than 208 isn't it? Thought there was one closer to 216 for some reason

Yup. The top 3 rams though as the article mention were pickups, not hunted.

There are other Hunted rams that will surpass this "New" record.

Such as the 215" archery ram taken this fall.

Default bighorn

Great accomplishment by a young hunter, well done regardless of final score.

I don't know. The ram was killed in South Dakota.

That ram is huge! Not sure if it will beat the wild horse ram though. I hope it does! Would be nice if the world record was actually harvest not found dead.

Alberta only sent one relocation to Montana and that was from Banff in 1922. The sheep in the Missouri Breaks came from transplants from within Montana , Sun River.

Now that big boy from South Dakota he could very well have been born in Alberta as we supplied them with some critters in 2015.

I'm personally proud of our involvement with getting those herds established.

Couple of great critters.

In my youth I'm working along the Missouri north of Winnifred I'm working away just keep feeling like something is watching me. I hate snakes & there's some big rattlers down there along the breaks. Keep working away sweating some trying to get done quick.

Finally look up there's a big old full curl Bighorn laying there on a ledge watching me. Big orange ear tag with a chip in it. He wasn't more than 50 yards above me. Neat moment. There's some bruisers down there.

Would be more proud if they would have kept the relocations in Canada, but like everything else. What the States wants is what the States gets.

It looks like Bighorns are thriving in the river breaks down south. Seems like a no-brainer to relocate sheep out of the mountains and into the river breaks here in Alberta. Anyone know if this is being considered?
