Default Gave a coyote away today

Sold a damaged coyote for $1 private treaty, I wonder is I have to pay drumming fee and commission on that, or will they just take my dollar and call it even??

not actually a serious question, but I found it funny when I checked today.

I just checked and it looks like one of my 3 semi's sold. I don't know the details as the catalogue hasn't been amended yet. Still waiting to find out what a heavy sold for in the strings that were bought back following the infamous no coloured ones.

EDIT - Just checked and found the info in the Download Data excel file. Apparently two of my semi's sold and not the 369733
XL-LGE II DBR 1-4 one in the Heavy's. I wonder why those ones didn't sell?

Just sold 4 squirrels for a told of 70 cents. 18 cent average. WE are rich, can't even buy a cup of coffee. Sold one more coyote and the avg dropped a dollar so on 65 dogs that price must not have been too bad.

They sold all of my 17 squirrels for $0.25 average through private treaty. What a joke! How does this work? Why are buyers allowed to buy skins without going through the auction process? There was no interest during the sale...why now? They didn't meet the auction minimum during the auction...why are they allowed to buy after they're bought back? Hopefully someone here knows the system well enough to explain. Thx.

Do you guys target squirrelso or are they sneaking in your Martin boxes like those Weasley weasels?

My buddy's son and daughter hammer the squirrels around their house and he give them the proceeds. They can barely by candy with it. Hahahhah

Got about 20+ in my marten boxes this year. Way more than last due to the mild weather. The actually like to eat meat I found out. Lots of them had the bait in their mouth when the trap smacked them. And they like bird feathers it seems as well

Here is a radical idea , In protest get a picture of a few trappers and a whole lot of Beaver pelts piled up and substitute all pelts except the top one with cardboard or blankets , in a large container ,which can be a bad or damaged pelt and set the darn things on fire , place it on U tubed so the buyers can see it and say NO MORE pelts until the price goes up ! .25 cent squirrels?
$6.00 Beaver US ?
I don"t see the cost of a fur garment go down anytime? So why even bother It should be a crime to pay less then $25.00 per pelt in 2016 !!
For example I don"t see the cost of tanned pelts go down at Halfords along with the low cost to the trapper .and they are just a peanut operation !
Local buyers $10.00 for a Beaver pelt , then turn around and sell at $98.00 minimum for a small and up to $170 for a large , it costs app 58.00 to tan ??
Heck of a profit I think!!

I'd make sure you had proof you did the bait and switch cause the fish cops would be allover you. Supply and demand. Russia can't buy beaver or coon. And no one wants them. Hence the pitiful prices and no volume movement. So just don't send them into auction. Stock pile them. New thread idea

Yes Bill I know that it would give them sphincter twinges to say the least!! That is why I say to switch before the Beaver roast! LOL
I guess what bugs my butt is the low price given to the trapper then the high price cast of a tanned hide to the public like I mentioned at our good friends in Edmonton!

That's why I said document the bait and switch. And I know you've been around the fur biz awhile i understand your venting. I have had a *1 LM brown beaver at the auction for 3 years now. Bought back. So to my thread store the fur I'm personally gonna starv the market. But one fellow can't do it all. So my 20 beaver a year will be stored until the market returns. Same as muskrat. And why would anyone send in a western red fox in this market is way past me. I still think the fur value of marten should be well over the100$ mark. Not for the trappers income more for the worth of the animal it's self.
But I have some radical views on the whole wildlife thing I guess.
