Default Magazines

There has been alot of changes to gun laws lately. I was under the impression that 10 round magazines for bolt action rifles where no longer permitted. I see several gun manufacturers selling rifles with 10 round magazines in Canada.

What happens if you purchase such a rifle and it includes said magazine?

Here is a link to just such a case. Scroll down to the cartridges available and you will see the type of magazine that is included with the rifle.

Thanks for any and all clarity you fellas can provide. I know some good information is about to be shared.

That legislation is still coming through, nothing official yet. As for what happens to the magazines once it passes, that remains to be seen. My guess is nothing will functionally change as enforcement of other recent changes has been spotty at best.

I can just imagine the uproar and ensuing boondoggle if they do outlaw 10 round mags in a bolt action, that will create an enormous amount of non compliance amgonst Lee Enfield owners for example !

I thought this applied to semi auto rifles? Have they changed it up again?

Well after all Cat, Lee enfields are a military weapon of war…. Too dangerous for us mortals to possess!

As soon as it passes they will no longer be able to sell them.

Remember the ruger banana clips? They all disappeared over night.
