I watched the OT, you could see it coming, Panthers had 2 breakaways within 3 minutes?
Some of their big guns dropped of quite a bit too in regular season vs playoffs, mainly Ullmark and Pastrank.

I’d like to see oil get by Vegas and play kraken.
I don’t care after that.

I did.
I knew they weren't gonna go all the way. But I thought it would of happened in the later rounds, not in the first.
It's been over a decade since the Presidents Trophy winner won the cup too, but none of those teams did what Boston did this year, they were a LEGIT Juggernaut.. But when a team dominates the way they did all year they can forget that the Playoffs are a WHOLE different animal and there's a reason we play the games.
Tkachuk did something this year that he would NEVER be able to do with the Flames and that's go to the second round of the playoffs twice in one decade, he did it in back to back years.
I also called the Toranna win, they were just a better team than the Lightning this year. Law of averages, they had to win eventually..
I can see Toranna winning the next round too. Again, I'm not AT ALL a Leaf fan, or want to see that happen. I just call em like I see em.
Last night on SportsNet out of the 12 headline stories, 6 of them were about the Leaves. The Oilers and Jets each got ONE article even though the Oilers also punched their ticket to the second round.
It's not so much the team I hate, it's the Toranna-centric media, and some of their over the top delusional fans sure don't help but every fan base has those fans, the Leaves just seem to have a LOT more of them.
Hopefully the Kraken can pull it off too and send the Avs packin.
Round two is gonna be exciting, every team left standing has as good of a shot at the cup as any other team, no more Dragon's left to slay..

Well I didn’t see the bruins and the avalanche both exiting the first round, kinda puts a lot of things up for grabs. Oil are the best team in the west left and Toronto might be the best in the east in my humble opinion, could be interesting going forward.

Yup I think it's all up for grabs now with the Bruins and Avs out, the year of the upset's and we could just get our all Canadian final, Leafs - Oilers
Before the Avs game last night they were saying that the Avs are 0 - 7 in game 7's so now they are 0 - 8 WOW hard to believe.
Anyone that placed a bet against the Bruins and Avs in the 1st round collected a handsome return.
One more game 7 tonight then it's on to round 2

Bruins, Avalanche, *and* Lightening, all gone in round 1. That would have been a good bet to win, what are the odds??

sucks to be a Leaf fan
Panthers restrict ticket sales to U.S. residents for home games against Maple Leafs
Maple Leafs fans planning to attend the team’s road games in the upcoming second-round NHL playoff series against Florida may find themselves shut out of ticket options.
The Panthers are restricting ticket sales for Games 3 and 4 to American residents.
It wasn’t clear why the restriction was in place but the Maple Leafs do have a fan base that travels well, particularly in the Snowbird-heavy Sunshine State. Tickets were set to go on sale later Monday.
Under an ‘Important Event Info’ listing on the Ticketmaster website linked to the Panthers’ site, a tab outlines sales requirements.

^ Can they even do that? Interesting. Not that I particularly care.
Devils need to stay out of the box, definitely.

Looks like the Devils are planning to move on.
Edit: Mid of the third and there are only 20-18 shots on goal for the Rangers, lol.

Well I had the Rangers going all the way. That Trouba hit on Meier was old school hockey for 2 seconds. Rangers had zero chemistry but on paper all the talent one could ask for. Another donation to the office hockey pool.

Problem with the hit was it was full on shoulder on head. Ouch. Concussion protocol has to be in effect.

That hit was big, neither a fan of either team but it’s a dangerous hit and should be suspended. Trouba a repeat offender on that style of hit

Add the rangers to that list as well, good thing I didn’t go into a playoff pool this year as I made several predictions that were wrong, usually I’m pretty decent at making decent predictions, a few years back I called the winner 4 years in a row.

Whewww good you didn't join our pool here on the forum based on your past record or we would all just be spectators
But you and I this year made all the wrong predictions. Good thing there is another round
