Wow! I’ve killed gophers as early as the end of January. This year nothing so far and more snow and cold last night and tonight. Should be soon I hope!

Have to get my rest on the deck set up once the snow lays off.

A good foot or more of hard crusted snow on the ground yet, -21 this morning feels like -28 no gophers out here yet. I do love whacking snow dogs when they start to pop up on top of the snow though.

Finally found some 22 lr ammo for reasonable prices (8c per round). So I'm starting this gopher season with 10,000 rounds. Might sound like overkill but we killed 1800 gophers in one field alone last year. Buggers were very hard on that crop

Lol, after selling all my rifles to get my expensive one I realized I still needed my .22, I sold it. There were no gophers in Redwater. We moved back south and I just bought a new .22 today. Back to door knocking. Lol.
Sigh,
Tullfan

Whacked another 19. They seem to be quite a bit smarter than the youngins that run around all spring once the snow melts. Must be mostly adults still.

Nice long range shooting! I wonder what the record is for longest gopher sniper shot is?

Hey! I have a witnesses to confirm the kills, lol! There were 3 of us and a buddy had a rangefinder. I couldn’t believe myself that I made those shots. I was walking around like a peacock after that!
