Default New addition to the safe

Well was at the High Prairie Gun Show today and have been kind of looking for a rifle for up coming hunting season. Lots of guns but prices seemed a bit high at most booths. Well at one booth was a Rem 700BDL in 30-06 with a 3-9 scope. Price was pretty decent for what was there.

Himed and hawed and looked around at the rest of the tables without finding anything comparable. So back to the Rem. Made an offer, accepted, now off to get cash. Well Mohawk ATM spit out $10 shy of what I needed, then run out of cash and kept my card. After taking with India they rebooted the machine, and nothing. Said there was nothing they could do. Well cashier looks in the machine for a second time and I get my card.

So back to the show, ask my buddy to borrow $10 after telling the story. So out I go with my new to me hunting rifle and new sling but don't have any money left for mini doughnuts.

So got home and looked up the manufacture date and its a 1991 Rem 700 BDL in 30-06.

Can't wait to ring the gong and see how she shoots.

It's got an older bushnell 3X9 40mm on it. Peaked though it and it looks good, clear and crisp.

Got it for $450

Ahhh not a bad deal at all for a woody Remington...

She should be a fine huntin rifle for many years.

That's the worry when buying a rifle isn't it? Well as soon as the snow melts, or June sometime which ever is soonest will get out to the range to throw some lead.

Best of luck with the new-to-you rifle. If its anything like most the other early 90's remington 700's I'm sure it will be fine.
