Default 7mm Rem Mag Federal 140 gr. TSX Shells.

Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can buy more of these shells? I have checked Wholesale, P&D, and Phoenix Gun Range.

Any other ideas. I would also be interested in switching to the 160 grain. Any thoughts on that as well.

Any info would be appreciated.

Kelly

If the 140gr tsx shoots well,I wouldn't bother with the 160gr.The tsx performs like heavier bullets of conventional construction,so a heavier bullet is not required. As well the 160gr tsx is a flat based design,so you don't gain a BC advantage over the 140gr tsx which is a boat tail design.

Have you thought about taking up reloading? Factory loaded ammo with premium bullets costs quite a bit more than ammo with the same bullets that you've loaded yourself. It's a great hobby and there is a certain satisfaction one gets from shooting / hunting with ammo you've loaded yourself. The process is easy once you learn to do it properly / safely and it's not that expensive to get into. You'll probably find that you have a lot more bullet choices compared to factory ammo too.

I shot 160's in africa for up to kudu and down to steenbok and they deffinetly arent needed for deer, may be good for moose but deffinetly not a requirement. I would check shpk archery lanes as i have found some federal ammo there before

Thanks for the info.

I would like to keep the 140's I just can't find any yet in town any more. If I can't find them I have also thought about reloading myself or getting to know someone who is already into it.

Thanks again

ox,

you know someone who reloads, i will get you and your brother going, you are gonna have to pick up a few things and take a few trips to the range but we can cook up some loads that will work. dont turn you back on the barnes boy.

PS. it might cost you a bottle for your first lesson, but i will share

wthby
