Just wondering if anyone has killed anything with accubonds? How did you like them? Thanks

Two hunting partners have made a few kills with them, both deer and moose.Penetration and wound channel were like a partition.

accubonds
Killed a mule deer buck a few years ago with 160 grain 7WSM shot through the heart at under 80 yards and a whitetail buck at near 60 yards - both died very quickly with pretty impressive broadside bullet channels through and through. Bought some 110 grain accubonds for deer this year and am looking for 180 grain 300 WSM AB's for moose as well, unless some XP3's fall off the shelf into my hands for that hunt. Accubonds are good hunting bullets in my opinion and were very accurate in 7WSM.

2 deer this year, one at 250ish, the other 50ish, same load one shot apart, 0.277", 130gr. Accubond, MV was about 3325fps.
Both deer died, and both bullets exited.
Dead deer, meat in the freezer, who am I to complain.

Like Them
As the handle suggests, I like them a lot. Used to shoot the Winchester Ballistic Silvertips, but never on game. Read too many stories of meat damage before season started. Changed to the green tipped Noslers, but once again on paper only. Wanted something of a all purpose bullet, not as thin and destructive as the first two, and tough enough for Elk/Moose. The Accubond read well in magazines and such. Took 4 deer so far with them. The shortest distance being 75 yards and the longest being 375 yards. All were through and through and no tracking. Heart, lungs/liver or neck all fell to the ground. Worst damage was on the 375 yard shot, lost most of a front shoulder (exit)

Accubond
Shot a cow elk at about 175m a couple of seasons ago, 140gr Accubond 270 win.
The cow took about 2 steps before piling up. The shot penetrated ribs and clipped the top of the heart. Lungs were tore up pretty good too. I recovered the bullet under the hide on the far side. Almost a perfect mushroom, retained about 65% of its' original weight. Not sure if thats good or bad, but I'd use them again.

JDP,
Were you hand loading or factory? If so what factory ammo were you using?

I purchased a 25-06 this fall and decided on the Accubond 110gr, my son who is 12, shot his first whitetail buck with them, about 150 yrds broadside shot, little high but dropped him like a stone, no exit as it lodged in the lower spine.
After hunting season I worked up a hotter load using the 110's and they shoot great,I've got them shooting to 600yrds and smacking an 18" gong consistently....it is now used for those coyotes that hang up out of .223 range.....surprise!

I have seen the 7mm 140 work on moose at 3300 muzzle velocity. Found the bullet 64% left nice mushroom.

Nozler Accubond
I've used the accubonds in my 7mm for the last 2 seasons and the are workin good I shot a whitey buck last year at 508 yards, the bullet went through both front sholders and out the other side, at first I thought I missed him but then he took about 2-3 steps and fell over, That's with 140gr very impressive.

I've shot accubonds out of my 7mm for the last few years and have been pretty happy with them. Accurate and good at killing stuff. Only complaint is sometimes the tips break off, I've had 5 now.

Accubonds
I have shot factory WS Accubonds in my 300WM in 180gr and 270WSM in 140grain @ elk, moose, deer, bears, coyotes, wolves. Great bullet in my books. I reload since 2006.
Superior performance at various distances. Most complete double lung pass thrus. I loved the performance so much that I traded all the TSX's I had bought for both calibers for Accubonds. From a bullet recovered a few years back, it retained 83.3% after a quartering away with shot placement behind the LFS and bullet recovered after it passed thru the RFS and still in the hide (300WM 180gr AB's in 2004). This past season recovered one from the 270WSM and it was over 70% if I remember correctly.
A 140gr AB's in the 270Win would be a great choice. I would not go for the new 130grainer. If you dont reload, the Winchester Supreme Elite XP3's in 150gr would be another good choice for the 270.
