Default #2 coil

Best bet is a #2 coil trap. check the regulations regarding trap size requirements for different furbearers. I do know that it has to have padded jaws.
Using a coil trap is easier because it takes up less space, easier to bed, and it is easier to transport.

Scent is a concern, so wear rubbergloves when possible and make for darn sure that you have secured the trap to something that will hold a fox or possibly a coyote. If you are trapping in a highly populated area you may consider the option of using a drag....this can have pros and cons.

I do not have any real experience trapping canines, just aquatic stuff so my advice is limited to information in the trapping course I took in Ontario a few years back.

good luck

Peter
