Default question to admin

Admin, can you answer why the NDP ban to Rebel media thread was deleted?
I am not trying to start something, but as per your rules:
"- Political discussion will be monitored closely. At the first sign of a political discussion going sideways, which may include fighting between forum members, flaming of political parties or individual politicians, the thread will be immediately deleted. Forum members that abuse this rule will lose their forum privileges."

Can you explain to us all what you mean by "flaming"?
The thread seemed to only mention the global news article and the link and some people's opinion on this, nothing derogatory though, and of course it was deleted.
Just asking a question.

perhaps we need an offtopic/locker room area like cgn and most other sites where people can go if they want chaos and freedom from moderation.

we don't need to clutter up our front page with chaos

It would appear that the NDP aren't the only ones that feel it is legitimate for the press to be muzzled.
Shameful to have this deleted.

Not sure what you're getting at, I am simply asking a question. I did not start those previous threads, nor do I want this to be a political thing.
Just hoping for some clarification as it may help others as well.
I like all the different topics that get discussed in the "general discussion" and they are generally interesting topics.

well they generate revenue from traffic so i'm not sure how effective it would be to tell people to take their traffic elsewhere

Either way I hope admin can just simply answer my original question.
Seems to be a large gray area on what is allowed and tolerated.
As others have mentioned, seems like any other political issue (federal) or International is ok to talk about.

Everybody should voluntarily "ban" themselves from the forum for 30 days (both posting and viewing), then sit back and see how the sponsors and site owner(s) react to plunging web traffic indices.

Or you could just demand a refund of your membership fees.

Membership only supports sponsorship when they patronize the people paying to keep the lights on.

Otherwise you got no skin in the game.

It's like having employees show up but they do not do any work.

I think that most regular posters on here know by now that anti-NDP rhetoric will not be tolerated. Get over it.

Anti-anything, or pro-anything is only a difference of opinions.
And if anti-ndp, or anything to do with them at all is frowned upon, then they should clearly ban any and all discussions and let everyone know. Just seems like its a gray area now.

I can't seem to remember many being singled out when they filled this board with pro WR and anti PC prior to the demise of Alberta.

It's all about dollars.

Think about it for one second and everyone should be able to figure it out.

Who publishes all of the regulations?

How much do you think the government pays for this service?

Would you want to lose this contract?

Never thought about it that way. That makes sense to me
