I`v always hoped for SHTF in my lifetime. Kinda was looking forward to the big earthquake on the west coast but I`ll settle for a nuclear war in the Mid East. Unless Yellowstone super volcano erupts. Or planet X smites us in 5 years.

That region of the world has been fighting ever since the beginning of time. The only thing that changes is who is fighting who and the weapons they use. I don't foresee the "western world" convincing them to change their way of life considering it is several times older than ours. Either way it is a sad reality.

War? Take a look at Chicago's stats for this year. 365 people shot and 70 killed as of today. It's a month and a half into the year. Those numbers would make all of Syria blush.

Not likely, Chicago's pretty safe, since it started in 2011 6.5 million Syrians have left the country as refugees, 220,000 have been killed.

Any talk of nuclear war "about to start" is a lotta BS. Even if those countries feel every bit that way toward each other, even if economies are about to take another dive, nuclear war is too destructive for ANYONE to actively seek except terrorist crazies. And MAD is a very effective deterrent, still well in place. Getting around that is possible, but not by any of the powers in this discussion.
As to regional conflict, what everyone else said. It'll keep on happening, sadly, and not ending the world or anything.

Seriously, I doubt anything will happen, doubt turkey wants to step on big boys toes. The whole reason this is an issue, like in Iraq where they found no weapons of mass destruction and thats the whole reason they invaded, the whole reason this is an issue is a secure pipeline. I dont watch a lot of news anymore, but everything has to do with oil and gas. We could get into Bush jetting Saudis back home day after 9/11 when all aircraft were grounded. Also America trained and armed Afghans to fight against their nemesis USSR 1979 to 1989. Backfired on them.

I'd say look towards europe for cross border hostilities to break out. A generation of socialist feel good policies and destruction of freedoms is coming to fruition.
From reading some more "local" eu papers it appears to me the msm both there and here are either ignoring or sanitizing what's really going on. I wouldn't quite use the word, "powderkeg" to describe the civil unrest yet, but it appears to be growing.
Don't forget high unemployment and hopeless, crippling debt incurred from chasing rainbows and unicorns which is also being ignored. It's a matter of time before something big happens over there is my guess. All it needs is a catalyst............you can fill in the blank.
