Default Benelli Lupo

I came across an interesting Bolt action called a Benelli Lupo.
Does anyone on the forum own one in 30-06.

How do you like it ?
If you would buy over the counter bullets ,what have you found that gave the best group using 180 or 165

Comparing these rifles...

https://www.cabelas.ca/product/13929...t-action-rifle

https://www.cabelas.ca/product/14785...truetimber-vsx

First... make sure you get a feel for it your self.

Benelli... good brand but new to bolt rifles. Unique features is comforttech stock and cast/drop adjustment. Good if you are recoil sensitive to a 3006 and prefer no ear protection when hunting.

Tikka... good brand, but proven success with bolt rifles. Unique features for this one is customizable cheek rest and grip. (Vertical grips are awesome). Removable muzzle brake (brakes are more effective for recoil reduction). And most importantly... set trigger (which is great for long range percision when you want it).

Tikka has much more to offer for similar price point.

I haven't tried lupo, but I tried my friends' Tikka and they all love it.

I’ve looked at and thought about getting one. They are a bit on the heavy side but not by a bunch. Be interesting to hear from anyone who has one.

Best group with 165gr Hornady BTSP or SST .... avoid winchester ammo. IMHO

I think its a beautiful rifle and would own one in a heartbeat BUT for the money the Frachi Momentum is a killer. Fantastic trigger, very smooth bolt, and great ergonomics. Id look hard at one.

Had one in hand and I feel there are much better rifles available for less or equivalent money. I would look at Ruger 77/Hawkeye, a self-customized Rem700, Tikka T3, Christensen Mesa, Browning X-bolt, Cooper, or drop a few more dollars and jump into the Sako 85.

In case someone is really interested, the Stoeger sale is on again as a boxing day or week sale. Calgary Shooting Cemtre was advertising a deal on Lupos, Sako S20 is on a sale at dealers too, some not bad discounts on them and everything else Stoeger handles, Beretta, Benelli, Burris, Tikka, etc.

I just watched the G&A review on the Lupo.
Three lug action, internal chassis style bed, and totally adjustable stock for length of pull, drop and cast .
Adjustable trigger as well. Double stack 5 round detachable magazine.
Many more features than many other rifles, if someone was looking for a bolt action hunting rifle.

Sorry fellas. What an abomination of a bolt action rifle.

If that gun were a woman, then at least the elephant man could have found himself a wife.

Hard pass.

And, I could care less how accurate it is.

Fugly if there ever was fugly.

And you will lose money when you go to sell it.

Definitely ugly as sin, and way more than I would pay for what they offer.

Benelli makes great shotguns .............. they should stick with what they know, their venture into the rife market is a fail and at close to $2 grand it's an expensive fail.

Ya, I like it. Looking forward to checking one out in a gun shop. I see they're on sale at Cabela's too.

HAHA!
Wawsn't it Ricky from the Trailer Park Boys who said
" Beauty is in the eye of the Beerholder"?
I. An earlier post I Listed some of features in the linked article about this rifle.
Technically it would be considered by some to be a good looking rifle, but what some consider " good looking " make some of us run the other way!
This is certainly NOT my idea of a good looking rifle!!

The Lupus is a Super Vince with a barreled action.

Their semi about is an ugly gun too. Very ugly.

I’ve never seen a “Lupo” before and have no idea how they feel or shoot but by the looks of them in the pic I think I would be embarrassed to be seen carrying one.
