A true miniature firearm is one that has EVERYTHING that the full size example has.Be it a functional lever action safety with regards to my 1/3rd scale 1894 saddle ring carbine or the tiny inconsequential yet important detail of my 1/2 scale Luger that has the action hold open when the magazine is empty.Every detail right down to the barrel markings and serial numbers is included with meticulous detail. There are only 3 makers of miniature firearms in the world that include live rounds for the miniatures they make and if you want to buy them the cost comes at about $10,000 minimum.
I guess the total art of craftsmanship is "lost" on you.Either you can appeciate that to make a firearm takes a lot of skill...to make it in 1/2 scale that fully functions takes 20X that amount of skill and to make it in a smaller scale it goes up exponentially. If you cant grasp the skill of a basic gun smith you have no appreciation of a gun smith who creates guns in 1/3rd scale.
Miniature firearms are expensive and to the average gun owner they are off the radar but at the same time they are an artform that has very few craftsman who have the skills to create these works of art and the skills of making them is rapidly dieing off.
