Cool South AB WT buck down :)

First off..... Pics to follow later tonight, cant upload pics from work

My morning started off by heading to some areas to glass where I have permission and have seen deer in the past. With no luck though. Seen a few WT does and an alright mulie buck. So my morning deer hunt was a bust. Time to change gears and go run some ditches with the dog

Wouldnt you know it while heading to one of my favorite haunts, I noticed to 2 deer bedded pretty far in a field. Put the binos up and confimed one was a buck for sure! Dug out the lanowners map, and contacted them. Turns out the husband was in town and the wife wanted me to talk to him before I went out there. I glassed some more and patiently waited out the clock. Roughly 2 hours went by with out the deer moving at all, and when I finally made contact with the gentleman. After a drive to the other side of the feild via road. I made a relativly short stalk on foot then finished up crawling on hands and knees till I could see him. Mark another kill for the .243

So far my biggest southern deer to date and a nice 5X5 to boot. Shoulda have pics up around midnight for those of you who are interested

Sorry for the bad field shot its tough getting nice ones while big game hunting alone. The 2 when hes in the truck show him the best. Definatly isnt the biggest but for the area I got him hes a pretty good buck.

great buck. that must have been a long wait for the phone call for permission. congrats.

as a side note... my brother and i had quite the argument (not settled yet) as to whether that would be a 5x5 or 4x4. he says in B.C. the first points (or eye gaurds) dont count.

personally, i say it's a 5x5.

With all the private land I hunt, and the land iv lost access to due to people and there idiocy. Really makes a guy mad. Seriously not very often I dont get ahold of a landowner. And not very often I get turned down. But when I do its because they like there wildlife, they dont allow hunters, they have there personal quota of hunters allowed, or I get the ol "we used to BUT last year (or years past) some idiots shot up, cut fences, tired of tresspassers ect"

I miss the days of hunting back home with nothing but crown land, But private has offered some of the best hunting opportunities iv had.

They are not a deduction on mulies unless theres only one. With both they are a very welcome addition to the net score.
