Default First time is a double

Went hunting last night with my sister and her young son . Bitterly cold with a strong wind but the youngster was determined to go . He made good shots on his first big game , a whitetail doe { 70 yds} and buck {225 yds }.Interesting enough, all three of us used the same gun to take our first deer , spread out over the span of 39 years and we all shoot left handed , guess nobodys perfect . he is pictured here with his mother

It's been my experience that the favorite uncle in the family is one that pulls out the rifles and or shotguns and takes the youth of the family out in pursuit of game. Its always fun helping the nephews out. If we did this all the time we could rid the world of video games and the like. Nice shooting.

By the sounds of the history with that rifle you can't sell it. Something like that needs to be past down through the family.

OP did not mention selling. Just suggesting with that kind of history it would be cool to keep in the family

LOL .. No that rifle will never be sold , Gotta be careful with it now , in previous years it had ben carried muzzle down in the truck and quite a bit wore off the barrel , getting dangerously close to the crown on barrel . Cased now .

Good shooting by the young man. Congrats! Kudos to you as well for taking the time to mentor future hunters.
