Default Wall Hanger For The Daughter

Got out tonight with my 19 year old daughter tonight for only the 2nd time this season. She has been working full time to save up for collage in January and only had 5 days for hunting in November.

After seeing nothing the first time out I was just hopeing to see some deer this time. We got in our blind and fired up the heater at about 3:30 and when I checked the time at 4:50 we had saw nothing again. I had just put my phone away and was thinking that we were going to get skunked again when I noticed a doe 150 yards away in the field. I had a tree that blocked some of my view and when I peeked around it there was a buck 10 yards from the doe. They were just standing there facing each other. My daughter had to lean across me to shoot out my side so it was a bit of a tricky shot. The buck reacted like he was not hit as the doe and him took of running. They went in a small dip in the field where we lost sight of them for a few seconds and when they came out on the run there were now 4 deer, and they ran into the bush across the field. Thinking she had missed I asked how the shot felt and she said " good, I was holding right on him. With snow falling and light fading fast I said we had better get out there and look for blood then. There were lots of tracks in the field and it took a little bit to find theirs but as we tried to follow the running tracks we could find no blood. We came to where we could see in the dip and I could see something 50 yards ahead in the grass and snow that didn't look right. A few more steps and we could see it was her deer. Getting closer I was shocked how big he was. Gross is a tad over 173 with a 22 inch spread and 26 inch beams.

You couldn't wipe the smile off her or my face all night. I am one very proud dad.

Turns out I found his sheds 3 years ago and a single side 2 years ago. I posted a pic of him from 3 years ago.

Congrats to both of you. That is one heck of a wall hanger for sure.

Congarts! Awesome buck! But I'm 95% sure that trail cam is a different buck. It has uneven brow tine length, the brow tines curve slightly inward and the right G2 looks different. Also the left G3 has an inward hook that I cant see on her buck.

Great whitetail buck!! Congrats to the shooter, and Dad too!

It could be the same deer as your earlier picture. Same genetics for sure.
