Red face SK Waterfowl Opener and I Forgot?!!

Hahaha! Was on a break at work this morning when my hunting partner texted me a pic of the mornings kill pile. It was at that moment my brain engaged and I said to myself "holy it's opening day!!" I have never forgotten an opening day in 38 years until today?? I didn't ask my buddy if I could post his pic so sorry no pic but it was quite the brace of birds!! There was a mix of Canadas both big & small plus a handful of specks, snows and ross' not to mention alot of mallards and big smiles on the happy hunters but damned its WAY TOO EARLY for snows and rossies?!! I fear we are in for an early winter. There has been some big flocks of specks, snows, cranes winging south and the pelicans started booking out over a week ago too!!

Aging changes alot of things!! Good thing you reminded me about that 10 gauge or I might have gone to pull it out for a hunt and said "wth where did that get to?"

Hmmm? Now I have to go looking, what did I do with those 4 boxes of Black Cloud?

My hunting partner said to go ahead and post the pic. He is the guy second from right with the biggest smile. That guy just loves killing waterfowl! Lol

Having a hunting buddy that sends pictures after the hunt instead of inviting you along for the hunt could be grounds for finding a new hunting buddy!!!!

On a related and similar note,,,,

Do you know the difference between a good friend and a really good friend?

The good friend will post your bail and come and get you out of jail when needed.

The really good friend will be beside you in the cell saying... "Boy,,, was that ever fun!!!!"

Approximately 80 birds divided by 6 guys = 13 birds each

Hope none go to waste just so they could take a photo for social media

I don't let those guys bug me. Jealousy rears it's ugly head often with those who do not have the skills to fill their game bag.

And yes I'll keep posting as we go along. Anxiously awaiting the Snow Geese. They are my fave to hunt. Love the challenge!

Its crazy how many snows im seeing already. Either the hatch was epic this year or we are in for a early winter.
