Default ASAT Camo users?

I just received my ASAT Camo Hoody and boonie hat. Just in time for archery elk.
I've also got a first lite sweater in ASAT.

Love it. Just wondering who else is using ASAT these days?

Cheers

I've been using ASAT for 15 yrs. The best out there IMO.

I've always heard that asat was very effective, but I'm still suspicious. It just looks wrong. Have you guys found it to be as effective as anything else?

Undeniably the best camo pattern out there, but the clothes dont fit tall people well. I used it on the prairie, in sand dunes and out west and never had an animal go "there he is" ; )

But the fit sucks, I bought 2xl everything and it has short arms and chubby bodied people in mind.

Seems American companies go for the "fat fit" wonder why??

I tried on some ASAT and they do not have a standard for sizing within each piece. I strongly suggest try before you buy. One thing you might be a med and another XL.

Asat must be better due to the lighter colours involved. When camo gets too dark, it appears as a black blob at distance. But I'm not a camo guy it's just my thought.

To isolate camo pattern as the differentiator between success and failure is impossible so frankly anyone who claims otherwise is a moron.

I sat invisible to a cow moose at 18m in First Lite ASAT, but I was hiding behind a 1" thick tree so she probably would have missed me even if I was dressed like a rodeo clown.

I'm tall and fat so I like the fit of the First Lite stuff. Great for layering which is important on those early November hunts that can have a 15C change from dawn to noon. I've never worn the ASAT brand gear, but my understanding is it doesn't match First Lite in quality or consistency.

It's not just the lighter colours, but more importantly the pattern breaks up your silhouette against your surroundings. This makes it harder for animals to identify your figure and threat. Get a friend with some nockers and try playing hide and seek while wearing it.

The explanation I received was that the ASAT pattern blended with the lighter spaces between objects like branches, trunks and bushes etc. It does not try to mimic actual leaves, branches ,rocks and such. That seems to be the case.

I found it works much better after some sun bleaching.

I use both ASAT and Fusion from First Lite depending on the foliage conditions. That said I think ASAT is excellent for our dry conditions.

Default first lite vs ASAT

I honestly can't tell the difference - no pun intended

I recently managed to get a good discount on some firstlite gear, and am pondering which pattern I want. How do you like the fusion, and where do you hunt with it?
I've been looking at the Cipher stuff, looks like it would fit in nicely with the deadfall and fall grass in the foothills.

For those ASAT fans that don't like the fit; firstlite gear fits extremely well, and most of it comes in ASAT.

If I'm in the prairies the ASAT is my go to, if I'm in an area with evergreens I'm wearing the Fusion. I find fusion works well when there is some green in place if not it looks out of place to me.

I personally prefer the fusion when I'm wearing camo just because I feel the ASAT looks like an affliction shirt.

I just bought the ASAT leafy suit in 2x. That way it goes over any of my other gear. I only wear the top now. But I did notice a difference. I've had coyotes just sit and stare at me with what seemed like a perplexed look on their face at 50 yards. lol. Whether they where just dumb dogs or not, who knows. But in my normal Camo, If they got that close they where usually running.

Love it....ASAT is to camo what Affliction is to T-Shirts.

My understanding is that most game species cannot see green as green. They see it as grey.
The idea of ASAT is to break up the human form, not make you look like the surrounding trees.

ASAT seemed to give up a golden opportunity by not locking down their quality control sooner. And just letting first lite licence the pattern and run with it. But I thought I'd give them a try and I ordered the hoody in Large and it's pretty much what I would expect for the fit. So that's good.
The real test will be in the field tho.

Default I like my ASAT

I like my ASAT gear. Had a muley stare at me 30 yards away...didn't know what to make of me.

She was suspicious, for sure, gave me a big long stare, but ultimately just went on grazing...

Ya had the same experience. Almost like they know somethings there, but they are utterly perplexed if it's a threat, a weird bush who knows. Almost reminds me of a Blonde looking at calculator...
