Default Steel Cut Oats

Anyone here like them?

Wife made some in the slow cooker with cut up apple and cinnamon in for breakfast. They are great and would be a great energy source for a day of hiking or fishing.

Any recipes anyone would like to share? even my kids liked it

We make a protein pancake around here.
In a blender

1 cup Steel cut oats
1 cup egg whites
1 cup cottage cheese

Pulse in blender til smooth then add 1/2 tsp baking powder and 1 tsp vanilla.
Pulse quickly and then proceed as with regular pancakes.

We use the cold pancakes as flatbreads and top with apples and cinnamon in a taco shape

Oh yes! Every day before my workout. Steel cut oats with almond butter and banana. I cook them in the crockpot too, on weekends and portion and freeze them. I usually cook them with a pinch of salt, vanilla and either cinnamon, pumpkin or gingerbread spice.
YUM

Edit: Never for breakfast though. I am in love with my breakfast sandwich maker. Can't help it ;-)

Edit2: I should mention I add the almond butter and banana when I eat it not while cooking it.

Steel cut oats and regular oats mixed half/half.

Put the steel cut in earlier, then the regular oats. Cook with banana and half an apple, add cinnamon and your sweetner of choice. Sprinkle pecans on top.

My breakfast 28 days out of 30.

Have it every morning, I put in 1 cup in a bowl , add some water cook it in the microwave for about 1.25 min and then I add yoghurt I like the source tropical flavour (coconut, pinapple and banana)

Before I always had those little pouches of oatmeal from quaker , that contained a lot more sugar.
