Default Hunting nordegg area

Heading out with my brother in law who has a cabin there. He has never really hunted before and I'm not familiar with the area? Does anyone have any experience out there? Any tips are welcome. Thanks a lot!

Beautiful country, take a camera, not my first choice for big game though. Easy ones get killed on the thanksgiving weekend, absolute gong show. Lots of wolves, some whitetails, elk are very few and far between. Im usually 10-15 km away from the highway, on foot, and only saw elk once. would suggest many miles on snowshoes, get way back into the thick stuff where there's food and cover available. Find fresh tracks and get after em. Take a pack frame cause there's many places a quad or sled cant get to around there.

Snow is deep enough right now that quad might be iffy. We're using a calf sled for packing out.
