Default Furnace question

It's hot as heck in my house and normal fans aren't cutting it
I have a newer thermostat that allows the option for turning the furnace fan on with no heat.
My question is, on my 10 year old Lennox furnace, there is a terminal on the board marked "C". Same terminal strip as the thermostat wires go to. Is this the cool function terminal?
And is it just a matter of running the one wire?

I realize that this kind of thing is best left to professionals but I have a two year old a 4 day old and a cranky wife. Funds are tight but I have lots of spare wire and am pretty competent when it comes to hands on work.

As always any help is much appreciated and there may be a cold six pack in store for whoever helps me out.

Cheers

The "G" terminal is the manual fan function. And yes, just the one wire is required, it serves as a return circuit from the 'R' terminal.

The C terminal means common. It's a common ground so to speak, used with the R terminal to complete a circuit to power the thermostat, or with an AC condensing unit. The "cool" terminal is Y, however without that mentioned AC system, all it will do is turn on the furnace blower same as your fan switch does, albeit at a higher speed
