Default Phrophetic Finding in the Old Back 40

Doing a little vegetation management today. Noticed a few Wild Roses making a comeback. Apparently some kind of fungal blight pretty much wiped them out for a few years around here.

Found this little sucker growing beside an old Orange Crush bottle.

With this little find, I was thinking I just might find Jim Prentice or some other PC lowlife slithering around - but - alas - there was no snakes in the grass that I was cutting today.

Kinda nice to see the wee Wild Rose surviving beside the old Orange Crush.

Well you're certainly correct about the Orange Crush, being a fungal blight. But be careful with the name calling, you never know who might take offence.

The Wild Rose will soon be putting the 'Fun' back into fungicide.

Any of the more "experienced outdoorsmen" have any opinion on the era this bottle may have come from? Dick?

It's the second run of bottles in the '40s ending with another change in '55.
Earlier '40s bottles had the "Crushy" character on the label

That bottle was born with a smooth skin, it is just so old it wrinkled, just like some of them old-time coyoteeee-callers.

Came from an era before people and everything they ate and drank was super bubba sized.

Probably cost 7 cents a bottle - then you would get 2 cents for a refund.

Works out to less than 1 cent per ounce.

Bubba with his super sized 7-11 Big Gulp is getting ripped off and fatter every time he wheels in and buys one .

Default 2 cents return

Do you remember how big the bag of jaw breakers was for the 2 cent return?
