Default How to make one of those shed coleector things (antlertraps)

i heard about theses antler traps thing were the buck knock off their horns to get the bait and i was wondering if anyone knows how to make one. details and pics would be great

If you google it online you can find the plans to make different 'traps'. I think keeping it super simple is important as you dont want the 'trap' to become a danger to the animal if he gets tangled up in it.....

I was told to find a old worn out picnic table. Place it out somewhere with feed underneath. The deer will hit their horns trying to get at the food underneath and knock off a horn. I was told its a good way to get both sides. Just passing it along.

I know guys that have tried it but it didn't work all that well . The best way to get the sheds is to bait them with square bales and oats and whatever else they eat and with the deer trails they leave you can find the antlers close by to the bait site. They don't go far. Patatoes are cheap and work really well for bait. Go to a patato plant and get the cheap leftover stock.
