Default 8mm remington Magnum

Hey guys, so i picked up an old school Rem. 700 in 8mm magnum. i like it. fun to shoot with a high potential for a moose next year. reloading info isnt just scarce but, poor id say. ive got a box of hornady 220 gr.'s and a nice stash of 7828. anyone wanna share their recipe? also interested in any possible purchasing of 8mm brass, bullets you may have. thanks again!

You know what killed this caliber way back then? The .338 Win Mag...

Nosler Brass available at prophet river but will require a healthy line of credit to purchase... bullets come available from time to time (check p&d as well as prophet river...As with any obsolete cartridge shooting is pricey. keep a watch at auctions as brass and loaded ammo available there periodically.

If you're not fussy about having the correct head stamps, you can resize brass from more common chamberings.

As mentioned many of the other similar cartridges can be used for brass, most of the weatherbys would be a good fit (300, 340, etc)

I’ve had one for a few years, but unfortunately don’t have a lot of load data like you say. I will dig and see what I have from a few years back, I have a bunch of the 220 Hornady’s also.

I had an 8mmremmag, and a 338x8mm rem mag, in addition to several rifles in 7mmstw. I sold the last of my 8mmRemington mag brass, not long ago. I preferred my 338x8mm remmag over the 8mm, due to a much better selection of bullets.

I came into possession of 8mm mag brass and dies in a purchase I made this summer. If you’re interested give me a PM. I’m west of Edmonton, out by Onoway. All Remington brass.
