Default Utikama Ice ?

Planning a trip there this week, after seeing the Slave lake ice thread I was wondering what the conditions are there. Flood water, or heaves, access conditions ? Anyone been there in the last couple of days ? Don't wanna do a 3.5 hr drive for nothing.

Default Utik

Was on Utik this evening. Ice was 24" every hole. No overflow. Snow was minimal. Drove on with 1 ton. I hear there is a ridge somewhere between the small and big island but I don't go anywhere near the small island. Good luck and happy fishing.

Went yesterday. Ice was about 2 ft. Larger 5th wheel on the ice. Flood water was starting at the end of the day. Don't know what it will be like in a week. Not much snow but lots of hard drifts on the lake with this warm spell. Ice ridge from south east corner ( creek area ) to North west of small island. Had to work / hunt hard for our Walleye. Lots of skinny pike, about 3 lbs. Finally Found them in a unusual different spot. Great day, 5 above and very light winds. I got a 62 cm Walleye. Getting to be too hard of a drive for this old fart. Next time maybe I will stay overnight at slave and spread the drive out over a couple days.
