Default Used snowblower parts

Anyone know of a place in Canada with used small engine parts for sale? My ancient MTD snowblower needs a new 120v electric starter and don't think its worth spending $200 on. Its a Tecumseh 10 HP, starter # 37000. Last resort is Amazon Canada for around $120.

you don't say where you are located but where I am, at out waste disposal site, they have site areas where stuff is dropped off. There are many lawnmowers, etc., there. Some good, some not but I would venture to say if there were elec starts on any of them, they weren't left becuz of the starters ..

Put things in perspective... go price a new blower out.

A coworker gave me his old one with a 2 cycle in it. Had a bit of work to do oin it as it would get wet and quit. He bought a brand new one and the plastic cutting edge gave him a fit. Ended up building him a metal edge.

May reconsider this idea, just thought if I got one for $50 it would be worth it. Rest of machine is good.

I can have a look at my work for you. We have a small engine mechanic in house , he keeps anything any everything. I know there's about a dozen starters laying in a pile. I'll See what I can find

If the rest of the machine is good the recoil would suffice. But anyways Jed's can likely help you out

Not at my age , pull start is good if machine is in the warm shop but a pain out in the cold. Gonna give Jed,s a call, didn't know they had used parts. Thanks for the tips.

Try repowering it with a a Chinese Honda clone from Princess Auto. Get a winter unit.

They are way more powerful, more reliable and more fuel efficient than any old Tecumseh or old B&S ever built. A 6.5hp clone would probably out perform your old 10hp boat anchor.
