Default Grouse Hunting - Article?

Hey gents,

I'm planning on grouse hunting for the first time this winter. For my first time out, I wanted to make it super safe and easy.

I had read an article about grouse hunting in winter, while walking along oil field roads, but I lost the magazine it was in.
I can't remember which magazine either (Outdoor Canada, Alberta Outdoorsman etc).

Wondering if anyone here had:

a) The article in question, or a very similar one?
b) General advice, rules, guidance about grouse hunting this way?

Thanks,

Max

Pretty sure that was a Neil Waugh article. Can't remember where I read it though, but he's a member here and has a website. https://neilwaughoutdoors.com/

You might be able to find it on there.

I could be wrong, but I think that may have been in the hunting regulations book a year or two ago.

Read Waugh's piece for sure, but long story short they tend to be up in the trees once winter settles in and the browse is gone from the forest floor. Willow & poplar buds are a bigger food source now. Watch for tracks as well - rarely have I followed tracks very far without turning up a bird.
