The big thing is to never let a bear find any food in a tent because you or the next guy is going to be in danger from then on at that place.
Typical chimpac post.

This coming from a self proclaimed expert on cooking fried chicken legs in a tarp or tent. If you spent any real time in the backcountry, not 20' from the front bumper of your car, you would know that cooking in any tent is not the best of ideas. (read what I posted above)

I will say from personal experience that cooking inside a wall tent or tarp is not a great idea, even though I have done it many times. A canvas wall tent will absorb the smells of whatever you are cooking, you would have to be a fool not to realize that. Once again, I don't think it is a smart idea but I have done it many times over the years. I try and stay clear of it if possible now but don't say there isn't any risk, because there is. Especially for guys in the real backcountry, not camped in some parking lot by the front bumper of your car in the middle of winter, or a farmers field like a lot of your pics.

I have cooked in a tent hundreds of times without incident, but, there are a few times I certainly wished we wouldn't have and those instances will make you think twice about doing so in the future.

We have been through this before so I wont bother responding to you anymore, but maybe this will help others make better decisions Than we have in the past. It might only happen one out of every hundred times but once it does it will make you think twice about doing it in the future.

I totally agree. it only takes once for a bear to come in, and you may be long way from help. Like said before not worth the chance.

Well I have not had a bear in the tent but I did have a skunk make a guest star appearance this fall at 3am on a nice moonlit night It might as well have been a 1000lb blood crazed grizzly the way the boys exited the tent...
