There are a couple threads going on this already.

It shut down because of a combination of things from what I heard. High rent, permits coming too slow, Heath issues, etc... I'm only going on rumours that are circulating around town as I don't know the owner.

I would think that it would have been hard to pay the high rent in town, especially when they had very little in the store to sell.

The present economic climate in Fort McMurray probably didn't help either.

"Well folks, it's been a rough couple of weeks, and it breaks my heart to announce this, outdoor essentials will not be opening again, we couldn't survive the time it is taking to get our permits reissued, or the fact that stress re triggered severe health problems for me again, we tried everything we could but there was to much went wrong. So this is a thanks to the loyal customers who tried to support us. I wish you all the best, and am deeply sorry.
*****Anyone who had preorders we will be contacting you in the next 2-3 weeks to refund the money that was put down,
***Anyone who had guns in for gunsmithing I am slowly getting those finished and will be returning them as I complete them, I will be in contact with you guys as I get them done and will work out with you a way to meet you or mail them to you, it's just gonna take me a couple more weeks because I am cleaning up the mess I'm left with closing this up.
Thanks again for all the support of the community and I'm gonna miss seeing all you guys, all the best to everyone from here on in.
In the mean time if there is anything anyone needs from me pm the page and I will get back to you within a couple of days, and will help if I can I don't check it as often as Shane used to, I'm not as computer savy, but I check every couple of days
Again I want to repeat that I'm very sorry it went this way.
Cheers to all!"
