Default Leupold

Confirm the serial number with Leupold before purchasing. Lots of counterfeits out there.
I got taken 2 years ago and didn't realize I'd been scammed until I called Leupold with a question. The serial number was a legitimate number but for a different model of scope then the one I had purchased.

That's high for a VX II imo. I'd be more inclined to step up 150 and purchase a New current gen 4.5-14 vx3i for 799 at Prophet River and not have any worries.

x3, I recently sold a 3x10x50 VXIII and a couple of EFRs for 450 each that were in perfect condition. They were gone in 20 minutes so I may have let them go a little cheap but I didn't pay much more than that for them when I bought them. Price for the VX11 is not a good deal, you can buy a new VX2 for quite a bit less money than he is asking. Cabelas have the VX3I 3.5x10x40 for $699, it is a superior scope to the VX2. That is just a price indication, /I would definitely buy from Clay at Prophet River.

Agree with those who say the price is high.

It's been a while since VXII have been made. I bought a new VX2 with the same features for $575 a couple of years ago when Leupold stopped making the VX2 line. Also picked up a new VX2 6-18x40 with CDS for less than what that VXii is going for.

Agree, the new VX Freedom is the VX2 and VX1 replacement with better glass and coatings, they are about $350 for a 3.5x10x40 last time I saw one.

Good call. Lots of better options for that kind of money. Take a trip to Cabelas and have a look through a Freedom. It is a lot of Leupold for not a lot of money.

A CGN sponsor had em on his site with a discount for thanksgiving that put a 3-9x40 freedom at $295 to my door here in BC

I have one on my cz455 22mag...seems nice but I dont care for the blocky look of it nor the focus ring....

I wish the gloss finish would come back

I bet there's lots of us that do. There's just something about an older Model 70 or 700 with nice polished bluing that befits a gloss scope.

Still the odd one that pops up for sale but the guys selling them don't give them away. I'd kill for a quality, older, gloss finish rim fire scope to compliment my CIL/Anschutz 310. Matte scope just doesn't do it justice.

A VXII is essentially the same tech as a VX-1. I wouldn’t of paid what he was asking for that scope. I’ve got vx3 and vx3i scopes on my rifles and haven’t paid more then $499 for any of them brand new but I wouldn’t doubt the prices have been going up.

Just an FYI, Check Bass pro near Calgary. They have the Leopold American Marksmen 3x9x40 for $299 regular price. This is basically a VXII with same appearance but is in matte not gloss.

Be careful buying Leupold from Prophet--They are in some sort of dispute with Korth group--was a pain getting my custom dial done few months back. Just FYI

i don't see that being a problem. If PR has inventory and you make a purchase from that inventory, the warranty is still Leupolds. They arent going to dishonor it because of where you buy it. I also can't see Korth not honoring a special order. Only reason for that would be a credit issue.

PR doesn't sell Cooper anymore either. I haven't heard any issues regarding warranties after the fact.

If there is an issue between PR and Korth it might be over distribution and some of the pricing out there. I've heard rumors to this effect regarding one out there. Would be a shame if PR and Leupold split. Great retailer of a great product.

For those interested in Gloss scopes I have a few left that I would sell, most are already sold. One rimfire 4 power, a couple of old style Redfield 3x9 and one Redfield 6x18 with adjustable objective. If you are rigging out an old classic rifle and are interested pm me.
