Default Any flintlock fans?

I have always been a huge fan of the american longrifle, and to be honest all flintlock firearms. Anyone here a big muzzleloader/flintlock fan?

I've shot a bit of caplock rifle at BP meets here in BC.

Suggest you find the Alberta association that puts on blackpowder events:
trail shoots, weekend meets w. overnight camping. Some of the guys and gals dress in period clothes but you don't have to.

I won't own another for a while, but it would be nice to know what the scene is like.

Lethbridge seems like a busy place for BP. They're hosting the Alberta Black Powder Association's provincial shoot August 1-3 this year.

Sherwood Park Fish and Game has an active Black Powder group. There are lots of us that shoot rock locks in that crew. Their range even has a "Woods" walk for patched round ball practice. They hold a couple of organised shoots every year and lots of informal stuff.

Since you don't need a PAL or anything else to buy and shoot Flintlock rifles I am surprised they aren't more popular than they are.

I have a flintlock pistol .45 - 4 1/2" barrel shooting its a gas, hitting a target is another story I guess that why they call them belly guns.
If loaded correctly the lock fires with no hesitation if you hear click boom your not loading it right.

My TC Hawken 50 cal (cap) will put 5 shots in an 1 1/2" at 100 yards with the right load
