Default Cracked Muzzle

My father-in-law has a rifle he will be giving me soon. A lee Enfield that he fired hot and cracked the muzzle. Having not seen it myself im not sure how bad it is.

He said it cracked 2" down or so.

Have been researching cutting barrels and it looks like there's more to the crown than i realized.

What would yall suggest? Is it basically a wall hanger now? What would my options be. And how much would the options cost.

Thanks

Cutting and crowning is not that difficult for a qualified gunsmith to do, or someone with a bit of mechanical aptitude, I'd cut it and recrown, and have fun with it.

Normally between $75 and $100 but prices may have gone up in the last while.

A pipe cutter to score a line, a hack saw to cut, a file to chamfer, and a brass round slot-head screw with some valve grinding compound and a cordless drill to clean up the crown...

Where are you located? I'm a machinist, I could cut and recrown the barrel for you in no time, if you gave me just the barrel. Maybe for a case of beer or something?
