I remember reading about somebody who was injured in that mass shooting in Montreal where some loser who thought he was a vampire shot up his school. Not the one where the guy hated women and shot up a women's school.

Anyway, the madman used a restricted Beretta CX4 Storm in 9mm. This guy who had been shot in the head but survived, was railing against the fact that people could have this "military style" weapon. "People have no business with a military style firearm" yada yada. All I could think the whole time he was talking was:

"Dude, you got shot in the head and survived! You'd prefer he had a real rifle or a shotgun??? Thank GOODNESS he used such a stupid firearm!"

I've got my restricted PAL, and used to own handguns. I found it far too expensive to actually enjoy. $50 each time in range fees to shoot the damn thing? No thanks. I have far more fun trapshooting.

I'll keep my restricted, and maybe look into getting a handgun again one day because they are fun, but the current rules make me not interested.
