Default I own the ugliest pistol that I have ever even seen

I own a 303 pistol that had once been a 303 Marinti Enfield rifle. It has a 4 inch barrel making it prohibited and I got it for $50 years ago from a local gunshop as I have prohibited status ... and who would want the pistol normally?

Is it possible for a gunsmith to make it into some kind of 'ratrod' type rifle so it can be used again?

I would never shoot it as it is.

Thanks

I would assume someone would want it for the martini action.

They're easily rebarreled, not a big deal to get its status changed to my understanding.

If it was originally a rifle and was cut down and not registered , all that needs to be done is a re- stocking and
Re- barreling . Large frame Martinis are getting desirable as well.

What does it have for markings? Very well may be a Kyber pass pistol. I have shot one of these Kyber copies and it was good for a few giggles and surprisingly wasn't as bad on the wrist as you would think.

I got that line from an old country and western song. I have some photos of this ancient beauty but not knowing how to post a photo - I can text it to anyone who would like to either post it or just gaze at it for a while.

That’s dead sexy. You could roof a house with it, then take her out and whack a deer for the freezer!

That pistol is the size of a house, but still considered prohibited because of it's "short barrel".
I know I shouldn't still be astounded by our nonsensical gun laws, but once again here we are.

Looks like a Khyber Pass Special manufactured by cottage gunsmiths in the Khyber Pass region between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Not likely safe to shoot.

If it's a .303, probably the original low pressure version.

Looks like it should get an automatic pass to the “antique” category.

Might be safer in front of it than behind it

Saw that gun or its identical brother cycle through CX Shooters some time back.

Remember thinking my nuts would not be big enough to try it out.

Edit: Read the first post again and if the OP has has this one for more than 2-3 years then the one at CX was a twinsie

That looks exactly like the one I shot a while back.
The order of operations goes.
*Boom!* "Ow! $#!+. Did I hit anything?" *Shakes hand while giggling and handing gun to buddy* "here you try it!"
From what I remember the accuracy was about minute of deer at 30 yards haha

I actually had one very similar to this, just sold it a couple weeks ago. It was restricted though. Never did shoot it.
