Wonder if there's an electric tool out there to speed up the task.
Wire wheel on a side grinder ?
I'm imagining being covered in beaver fat not to mention the entire room

You got that right.... Not quite sure what the tool looks like that GW was talking about....a spinning disc..??

A spinning tool would work okay since it would be ideal for self cleaning but would need a guard to keep the debris concentrated.

A back-and-forth reciprocating motion is another choice offering possibly better depth control and wider swath - not sure there's such a tool on the market.

The outdoor temperatures have rarely gotten below minus 15 this winter to aid in the freezing aspect.
