where is the CROWN LAND by CALGARY... guys?
Hello ive never been out west of calgary where is this crown land what section?.. can someone give me some info please.. want to head out tommorow;saturday early AM(Nov,7,2015)..

Go out and do some homework/buy a map.. Look into it online. If you don't know where crown is and you are going to hunt tomorrow I think very little people will be willing to help.
There are lots of guys heading "out west of calgary" that's a very general description.

crown land
head west to 406 hope you have a draw .
head south porcupine hills behind clarsholm off of highway 22
head north of Cochrane up the forestry trunk road there is lots of crown land up there good luck .

But really, you need a good map. There is green zone land in Kananaskis that you can hunt on, lots of it (if, as has already been said, you have the right tags), but there is also provincial park and recreation zone land where you can't, and the boundaries aren't always easy to spot.

I got the map.. backroads, gaslines,power lines n cutlines.... does not have the lease sites roads for the well sites.. ill manage.

Head north to Olds, turn and head west. Don't turn, you will pass Sundre then bearberry( nothing there, little pub and community hall) eventually you will hit gravel. Now your into crown, drive up little ways. You hit a T, left or right your good. The zones are 318, 420, 417, 326 ect... Good luck

google the different counties landowner maps... most of them have a PDF copy online.... it will tell you what is crown, what is private and what is grazing lease.

For some reason my map dont show the crown land..... it shows butnstick. But i want by calgary. The closer the better for kids and wife.
