Waxing and Dye?

Just starting to gear up for trapping coyotes. Got my first #3 leg hold. Why, when, and how does one wax/dye his traps?

Hi there WW , You ask "why", well if you will excuse me, I might ask you the same question--WHY -- better yet -WHY NOW - Mating season's underway shortly if not already and they will be rubbed real bad and worth , well lets say not a whole lot . I don't do coyotes in leg holds so can't be of much help, however there will be advice coming to be sure.. Good Luck with the yotes
