Powder storage

Saw this on another forum.
Is this what the law is when it comes to powder storage in your house. Not in garage or shed but in the basement or other room within the house.



302 (1) The maximum quantity of smokeless powder that may be stored at any one time in a dwelling other than a detached dwelling, or in a storage unit attached to a dwelling other than a detached dwelling, is

(a) 20 kg, if all the smokeless powder is in containers that hold no more than 1 kg; or

(b) 5 kg, if any of the smokeless powder is in a container that holds more than 1 kg.

So if all my powder is in one pound cans I can have up to 20 kgs total. But if I have a 8 pound can I can only have 5 kgs total. Am I reading this right?

Separate the 8 lber into smaller 2lb jars. Problem solved

Actually I read the wrong section. For a detached dwelling (house) the limit is 25 kg of which only 10 kg can be blackpowder. Must be in original containers.

I was reading a dwelling other than a detached dwelling (condo, duplex).
