I seen a video on how to sharpen steak knifes for home owners that don't have sharpeners . They use the bottom side of a coffee cup.
I kind of laughed and grabbed a steak knife and it worked ! Lol

Take it to the fella in Bowness. Best 20$ you'll spend. All old school machines in his shop.

He sharpened my Z71 blades, better than factory.

You wouldn't happen to know the name of the place by chance? It looks like there's at least 2 of them in Bowness.

I was researching on how to sharpen the blades off my Ion auger. One guy used a Work Sharp knife sharpener, he pulled the blade guide off and just ran the blades across the belt very lightly following the angle of the Ion blades.

I gave it a try with worn out medium grit belt, work great. If I had someone local to sharpen them I would have brought them in.

I did buy some new blades in case I messed it up. I compared the new blade to the ones I sharpened and drilled some holes with both. The ones I sharpened were very close to the new ones.

X3 for carbide saw services in Bowness. He does my strikemaster blades, which are curved and not easy to do properly.

As mentioned Foothills sharpening in Okotoks for the deep south guys and Carbide for the NW guys. There is one in the NE too but I cant recall the name. All do a great job on those blades. Best money you will spend all season.

I honestly can’t tell the difference between them and a set of new blades.
