Well, 5 shot groups are almost always larger than 3 shot groups. Pretty safe to say if you shot the extra two into a three shot group it wouldn’t get any smaller
I did some comparison testing and found for myself, a five shot group will typically be about 40% larger than a three shot group.... which pretty quickly turns a half minute shooter into well, not a half minute shooter.
I was happy with 3 shot groups until a talented shooter convinced me I would get much better information from 5 shot groups, so for the past five years or so, it is five shot groups for all my rigs be they wearing skinny sporter barrels or heavier contours. At 300m, I am starting to prefer 10 shot groups.

Ever looked at this site? https://www.ballisticstudies.com I am going to work up a long range gun based on what I have learned on this site and with his books. Bought his stabilizing and bedding compounds. Probably based on a howa or remington. Mine will be a 7mm for hunting.
