Default Grande Prairie area birds

I’m new to the GP area and just wanted to see if there is much this way for spring snow goose hunts? Fairly new to waterfouling, but have had a ton of fun the past couple years. Just interested to see what my options are for this spring.

Thanks!

Since no one else has answered yet, I'll offer what little I know of the goose situation in the area.

GP is great for waterfowl. There are tons of water bodies to the northwest that attract a lot of Geese and Ducks, but I haven't seen more then a few Snows out that way in the many hours I've spent bird watching in that area.

I have not spent any time to the east or southeast so don't know what's out that way, but from what I've seen in the way of Snows in other parts of the Peace district I doubt you'll find many out that way either.

Still, I do see a few small flocks in the area every spring and fall. You might find a place worth hunting.

I spend more time around Lac Cardinal by Grimshaw and see more there then further south. A similar body of water around GP might be worth a try.

Google maps would help you find possible places to look.

I farmed north of Valleyview for 15 years and never saw a white goose. Did see quite a few swans and cranes, along with many Canada geese and all kinds of ducks.

Thanks everyone, great info to have.

I figured if it was a hotspot the word would be out, just thought being new to the area it was worth asking.
