Great gun but it does benefit from an aftermarket recoil pad.

Default yup

30-06 t3 lite stainless. Like sheep said...put a limbsaver recoil pad on it (shooting hornady light magnum loads off the bench convinced me). I think limbsaver sends a wicked awesome christmas present to tikka every year...on account of all the recoil pads that are bought from them for t3's.

If I was buying another one...I'd be tempted to opt for the laminated stock intsead of the plastic one. I just don't like the hollow sound or the feel of it which I somewhat negated by putting one of those tactical looking cheek piece pouch thingy's on the stock that holds a few shells and has a pocket. But so far...pretty indestructible and super smooth action.

Yep, a .300 Win Mag

Great platform but remember to add a limbsaver to make it perfect

Yep I totally agree on the limb saver part!! feels like a 100 mile/hour hockey puck with out one. lol
You dont feel it when taking your animal but you sure feel it when sighting her in.
Other than that, it shoots great, nice and light to carry in the bush, and does the job required of it.
I have the 30-06 blued with synthetic stock, lefthand bolt

i know a guy with a T3 Lite in 300 win mag and has had no problems with it, i dont have a Lite, but was amaazed at how lightweight it was. i have a laminate stainless T3 in 25-06 and abosuletley love how smooth the action is, you will not regret getting one of these guns. and the limbsaver pads, they have a list on the front on the packagee that says which guns it fits, i know they have one size that fits all T3 rifels, good luck

I have a stainless laminated 300 win mag, put a bushnell elite 6200 on it and P and D bore sighted it, went to the range first four bullets touching. They are great, smooth action, easy to carry, nice looking, nice clip and great shooting rifle IMO.

I have a Tikka T3 Hunter in 300 win mag and its awesome. It does kick but doesn't really bother me, very accurate, very smooth and very well weighted.
I call it THOR. You can't go wrong with a Tikka. I think the new Thompson bolt actions are worth a look as well.

have the stainless and synthetic stock tikka t3 lite with a limb saver in 270WSM and love it. Would buy the same gun in a second. Without scope it weighs 6lbs 3oz and is a delight to carry and shoot. The limbsaver pad fits exact, I had no problems and is recommended.

Good Luck.
