Mine has a bighorn action, Gunwerks Magnus stock, benchmark 22” barrel, trigger tech diamond, and topped with a tangent theta 3-15 hunter

That 22” tube is a life saver! I’d do every thing to stay at or around 22”. I love packing mine and anyone that uses it prefers it over their longer barrelled rides. And the Bighorn action certainly won’t disappoint, they're wicked. I have a TL3 I built on and it’s superb.

Velocity with the 230 gr eldx’s is 2830 out of a 22” barrel during break in
Should speed up a bit
Es was single digit too
A little tweaking and it should be good to go

Nearing 200 rounds through my 7SST now. Pretty impressed at the performance potential out of a short action.

What kind of number are you getting out of your SST Cappy?

2925fps with the 180gr ELDM with no pressure signs. 3010 with swipe marks. Accuracy nodes seem to be every 100fps or so down to 2700. 26" barrel. Rifle built for long range specifically and not a packing rifle.

What bullets and primers did you use?
What kind of velocities were you getting

I got a 6.5 Sherman as well. Had it built about eight years ago. N570 works good in it as well. Mine has a 28” Hart. Get 3339 FPS with a 140 Berger. Started playing with some 123 absolute hammers and H100v. Couldn’t get the velocity I wanted. Think I need some R23.

I'm using 140 gr Hunting VLD's. 210m primers. got a comfortable node at 3248 fps.

the 150 matrix with retumbo was a solid shooter too.

I agree the 150 did shoot very good out of mine too. The 160 matrix didn’t shoot very good out of mine compared to other bullets I tried.

Shot 225 Barnes ttsx’s out of my 338SS today just over 2800 with a full case of H4350. Crazy accurate and no pressure signs.

I could only find the 210's around here
How would you compare varget to h4350 with the 338 ss?

In mine varget pressured up way quicker with less of a charge, especially with F215M’s. Little less pressure with F210M’s but still didn’t get the speed others were and mine overpressured with less of a charge than others could get in.

I ran up to 64 grains of H4350 with a F215M and the 225 Barnes when I had a little heavy bolt lift, hit 2833. I dropped down to 62 at 2784 and a very good group. May be able to nudge up a bit more but that will do.

I’d be up for that! Just trying to get my poop in a group and collect some components.

Why not rent a reamer from the Sherman Website?

With shipping from the USA in today’s day and age, it’s not as easy it may seem. I’ve had packages take 3 weeks extra one way recently. I could just about end up buying a damn reamer by the time I got it back on a rental! Lol

Should have thought of that before I posted.
Thanks
