For people looking for deals and if they do online buying this site has some crazy deals. It is an auction site that has auctions that only last a couple minutes. I've seen guys get a new 200 dollar rifle scopes for 6 bucks. Binos for a couple bucks. Fishing gear for pennies on the dollar. New items come up every couple minutes. A large variety of things. Worth following and bidding on some items.

Since the topic is deals...
Also worth following these websites. Sometimes both sites have some tremendous deals you can bid on. New items are added regularly. Both sites are government surplus auctions.

The Alberta online auctions.
https://surplus.gov.ab.ca/OA/ItemsSearch.aspx

If you are willing to travel anywhere in Canada, including Alberta, to pick up the items or ship the items this is the Canadian government auction site.
https://www.gcsurplus.ca/mn-eng.cfm

Sometimes no one bids on some items so you can pay minimum for things like boats, ATVs, cameras, and so many odd things. Both sites have forfeited/seized items that can be anything.

Has anyone seen any good deals on Dewalt (or any other brand) Reciprocating saw? Ideally, I want to buy Dewalt 20V Max XR Brushless Compact Reciprocating Saw, but would consider other options depending on the price. I don't use it as much, otherwise I would just buy the one on Amazon for $186.

Thanks!

I see Rona has a deal on today and tomorrow from 11am to 2pm online .
20% off regular priced item over $1000.00 before taxes.

http://links.email.rona.ca/servlet/M...MyS0&mt=1&rt=0

I suspect there will be more action soon at the McLeod Trail Rona near Southland as it is getting converted to a Lowes in the near future.

Amazon has seiko snk809 watch on for 60.00 their reg prive is a steal at 85.00 its a good entry automatic watch. Solid build, 38mm so it a usable watch not some huge thing that is for show. it's an automatic so it's not going to be as accurate as a quarts. But then it runs on gears and springs which is a little more Interesting. And no batteries!

Yesterday Sobeys had Lactancia salted butter @2.99/lb, limit of 8. I found the deal and proudly told my wife, who then went and got 8 more. The funny part was that I joked with the cashier that when my wife heard of the deal she'd surely be back to limit out again, and I was absolutely right.

Canadian Tire has all manner of plastic strip rails of metric and imperial sockets and bits for 65% to 68% off. Great timing for equipping my new service van

Examples include a rail of 9 sizes of 3/8" Allen drive bits for $7.99 or a rail of 11 sizes of 1/2" drive sockets in metric or imperial for $18.99

Not sure if this qualifies, but I saved myself some bux.

There is a product for RVs that one snaps a shade cloth to the outside windows to prevent the glass from gathering the thermal energy from the sun, in turn heating the interior.

I got some window screen from Co-op and made some for my unit. A 3'x7' roll I believe. (It comes in black as well as some camo or other patterns, but I went with black)

The online product uses a 3M snap (vinyl I think) with the associated adhesion product.

I used lego as my snap device. Cut screen to size, adhered thin lego piece to vinyl window surround with clear 732 silicone, let set and snapped a lego block sandwiching the shade cloth in place.

Makes a world of difference, still allows through breeze and survived that crazy wind we just went through in the north. Seems to add a bit of privacy as well, though I didn't really check that aspect.

About $25 all in since I had the silicone and lego bits on hand. Covered 3 windows. Easy to remove for driving and hard to notice the thin square white pieces on the white trailer.

Tried to get on that deal but sold out in Airdrie and other locations are refusing to match. Would have been nice as my water heater is due to be replaced soon.

Has anyone seen any good deals on cordless saw? My niece just purchased her first house and I asked her what she would like for a house warming gift? She said she could use an electric chainsaw like https://cozzy.org/best-mini-circular-saw/

Tried a dewalt and a miluakee cordless chainsaw the other day, interesting but expensive compared to an entry level stihl gas saw.

However, I do love the cordless dewalt compact recip for all sorts of cutting, with a pruning blade it does very well. I also have the oscillating saw which is the best invention since the dremel, and the cordless 7 1/4 circ saw is great, but the 6 1/2 is strangely underpowered. Brushless does make a difference.

Watch KMS for deals or amazon, I have also found kijiji deals on brand new stuff but never a chainsaw.

I recommend picking a system you like and sticking to it for the batteries.

Flanny

Rona at Macleod & Southland has some good deals as they transition into a Lowes. Generac GP5500 generators are $550 from $1100. 5 of them
Here. Lots of other stuff and pricing gets more aggressive (up to 75% off) as they near each next section being renovated.
