Default Whitetail Decoy?

I know it's a little early but I was thinking of trying a whitetail decoy this weekend with my ground blind. I was thinking of just perhaps going with the doe.

Can anybody give me any advice from their own experience as to whether or not decoying would be a waste of time this early on?

Thanx.

Go with the Buck decoy.
I tried doe decoys several times and they get bad results.
I make my own from Coreplast {plastic cardboard.} They work very good for me. Buckie has produced every year since 2005 for me.

Go with a buck in a small open area. Might not hurt to bring some rattle antlers and softly touch them together every once and awhile.

Pete, have you had any luck with your Elk version yet?

(I'm toying with the idea of making a few cow elk decoys for my late season cow elk hunt...)
